Policy on Compliance Incentives for Small
Business
Under this policy, EPA will refrain
from initiating enforcement actions or
mitigate penalties for small businesses make
good faith efforts to comply with
environmental laws and disclose violations.
The policy sets forth a number of conditions
that a small business must satisfy to be
eligible for the protection offered by the
policy.
EPA Enforcement Response Policy
This
policy provides small businesses with a
grace period to correct Clean Air Act
violations detected as part of a state small
business compliance assistance program
(SBAP). The policy also allows that the
violations detected during a SBAP may be
kept confidential and will not disclosed to
the a state enforcement program during the
correction period.
